15th Anniversary Picnic

Enchanted Rock by Ira Kennedy

Dear Friends,

Thanks so much for coming out yesterday to celebrate FOER's 15th anniversary! The food was wonderful, the music fun and we saw quite a few new faces. Help us spread the word about FOER - Enchanted Rock State Natural Area's only support group - to your friends and neighbors, and next year we'll see even more new faces!

Special thanks to Barry and Beth for the fabulous fajitas, Marshall and Terry for the cheerful tunes, and to Ranger Gary for showing kids (young & old) how to flint knap. Also, many thanks to our silent auction donors, Finn Alban, Tara Heflin, Gary Verstuyft, Ira Kennedy, Donley Watt, Jim Stanley, Bill Lindemann, Whole Earth Provisions Company, Paloma Soto, and Timothy Koock. Additional sponsors were Patty Williamson/ Lizard Dreaming Yoga, Daniel Raymer/Ranch Road Roasters, Kyle Biedermann/Ace Hardware, Jim Huepel,  Pedernales Brewery, and Fredericksburg Brewery.

And finally, Julie Roseberry for managing the auction and Katherine Peake for keeping us on track.

With your generous donations and memberships  we raised $2,000 while having a great time. ALL donations to Friends of Enchanted Rock, STAY IN THE PARK and are used for conservation, interpretive and educational projects. So, pat yourselves on the back today for doing a good thing yesterday. AND... THANKS!

We appreciate our generous donors, but money isn't everything... WE NEED VOLUNTEERS IN THE PARK!  Please contact us here or call Ranger Scott Whitener 685-3030 if you are interested learning more about the many opportunities for making a difference in the park. You can lead nature walks & Summit Trail tours, or do trail maintenance, invasive plant control, office work, or even help park cars -  we need it all! Administrative assistance is also needed here at FOER - please let me know if you are interested in helping out.

Until next time - hope to see you in the park!

Melissa
